Open Question: Is it necessary to go to a doctor for type 2 diabetes?
I have done a little research on type 2 diabetes. It seems that I fit the bill for a lot of the symptoms. However, I have heard/read that with proper diet and exercise type 2 diabetes can go away or be monitored. We have individual health coverage and are thinking of having a child sometime within the next year. During pregnancy, one cannot take the medication prescribed for newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes candidates. Plus, if it can be monitored and taken care of with diet/exercise I would rather it not go on my permanent medical record. I try to avoid going to the doctor at all costs, and I currently do not practice a healthy lifestyle which I could change. As far as I see it, going to the doctor only means extra $, drugs, and a permanent record on a non-group plan. However, I am a paranoid person and want to be healthy for my hopeful future family. What recommendations do you have?
Noccie…I do realize that being pregnant and having kids will mean more trips to the doctor. My husband and I are currently working on coming up with the monies necessary to cover such treatment. I am not totally anti doctor, just don’t think I need to go for every little thing. Things have been rough with us in the insurance area. I understand that having diabetes and being pregnant presents complications. That’s why I am trying to do some research and make a decision. Thanks for your advice! :)

Open Question: Am i being a brute. My ex wife who left me for a loser has now returned.?
My exwife left me about two years ago for a man who worked in the warehouse at her company. She has been experiencing problem after problem. I allowed her to move into a home that we had together. I had already purchased another home and remarried. My exwife is suffering through life. recently her twenty year old daughter returned home with a baby. her daughter who was one of the stresses in our marriage is a disaster. she marrieed a 21 year old man with full blown diabetes then had a child by him. the child was born underweight with disabilities. the baby cries all the time. the daughter ran off and left the babty with my exwife. My exwife who had to leave our home in Long Beach is now living back in south central with her warehouse boyfriend who is out of work. She called me and asked me to take thed baby. My wife was hesitant. My new wife is a pediatrician and has a giving heart and decided that we should take the child eventhough we have no realtionship. I attempted to contact my exwife’s daughter with no success. yesterday, my exwife showed up at my office with a bag of clothes and the baby. she left the child with my assisstant. when i arrived, i saw my assistant with the baby and told her to take the rest of the day off if she could not find child care. I had never set eyes on the child before. my assistant informed me that my exwife had left the child. my exwife refuses to accept my calls. i went to her south central home and found it a haven for homeboys and junkies. I called my new wife and told her the problem, she drove over to my office, picked up the child then took the little girl back to her office and examined the child. The child is two months old and has a list of medical problems including partial blindness, and kidney problems. I am stuck. My new wife wants to keep the child for fear that it could go into a system that breeds criminals and deralicts(Child services) what would you do?
I am a good hearted man and feel that reward is found in giving. My exwife knows that and that is why she left the child. I wont do a thing for her but the child is innocent…My new wife keeps reminding me of that.

Voting Question: Medical Legality issue?
Hi please hold personal opinions and just give me facts…
I have a friend who is having an issue with their physician assistant…
Basically, my friend, who we will refer to as Bob from the point,
told his doctor from the get go that he uses marijuana, which never went anywhere from there, the doctor just took note of it, then a few months later, doing some routine blood and urine work for diabetes and whatnot, the p.a. came back and said looky here i found a surprise, referring to the presence of thc (pot) in the blood or urine work. Bob was not told he would be submitting to drug testing, the p.a. told bob he had to clean up or would not be able to receive their care or medication anymore and he is pretty much tagged…
Is this normal? Is this legal? Bob now has to jump through hoops and cannot smoke recreationally even though he has done so responsibly for over 50 years. Any advice?
