Open Question: What are some symptoms of ADHD?
What are some symptoms of ADHD?
I know someone with severe ADHD. He can’t remember things for very long, and is very hyper.
Also, he talks to himself. Is that a normal symptom of ADHD? Maybe one unusual way of releasing some of his hyperactivity or something?
I have never heard of that being associated with ADHD, but is that normal for someone with this disorder?

Is there any way to control that, the talking to himself? Ritalin and other drugs haven’t been able to control that. What can be done about that?
Maybe he has another psychological disorder that makes him talk to himself. What would a disorder like that be called? What would cause it? How can it be controlled?

Open Question: ADHD Investigation and parents?
I need to perform a Psychological investigation about mental illness and in particular Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder for a project I am doing. To do this I need to gather some research from real people who suffer or know someone who suffers with this “Illness”. If you would be as kind to take part all you are required to do is: If you know someone who has ADHD just reply to this post with the corresponding “type” which best describes them.
The person in question…

Type 1: Lives with both Biological Mother and Father in the same household.

Type 2: Biological Mother and Father have divorced and the child lives with the Mother.

Type 3: Biological Mother and Father have divorced and the child lives with the Father.

Type 4: Biological Mother and Father have divorced and the child lives with the Mother and a Step-Father.

Type 5: Biological Mother and Father have divorced and the child lives with the Father and a Step-Mother.

Thank You in advance for submitting this information for my research.

Open Question: My husband has been out of work for 14 months now, after working for 6 years straight.?
The last 3 years he was fired and rehired but he was not feeling well enough to work although he tried his best.He did work with his family as they owned a small store. They understood his problems so let alot go.Now,he has gone to get a diagnosis to see why he is feeling so bad and the results were Major depressive Disorder,Recurrent,Severe with Psychotic Features(with paranoid thoughts).Generalized Anziety Disorder and chronic back pain which he has had for years since he was injured. He has a GAF Score of 42 and it says Highest GAF Score (last 12 months) 45.I do not know what all this means but I would like to know if any of this may help him to get disability. We have 2 young children and need money to support them.He has worked enought to get SSD,not SSI.Each child also have a claim. He graduated from the 8th grade and went 3 times in 9th grade and then quit as he could not pass.He feels he had some kind of ADD/ADHD but back then not alot was done with this stuff. He was labled a “slow learner”.He has no other work experience except what he last did which was stocking shelves, cleaning up,some delivering of pizza’s,etc.
